The development of The Tea Rose Foundation began in Eta Theta Omega Chapter as the Property Investment Committee in years 1999-2000 when members were interested in purchasing property or sorority house building.  After an extended hiatus, the committee became functional again in 2012.

At the February 2013 chapter meeting of Eta Theta Omega Chapter, the Committee made recommendations to establish The Tea Rose Foundation providing  info for the name, Board of Directors, Election of officers, By-laws, Employment Identification number, bank account, insurance, and 501 (  c) 3 status.  The recommendations were adopted.

To seek and secure corporate status, Articles of Corporation were drafted and filed in 2012.  The application process was set forth to obtain an Employee Identification number as well as exempt status.  During the application process, a Conflict of Interest Policy was adopted. Research was done, sample documents reviewed and by-laws were drafted in March, 2013.  In May, 2013, a visit by the Board of Directors was made to Jackson with Beta Delta Omega Chapter- CAP Foundation, Inc. to get more information about chapter and foundation operations. After all components were completed and the application filed, the effective date of incorporation of The Tea Rose Foundation was May 22, 2012.  Federal Tax exempt status was granted to The Tea Rose Foundation on June 11, 2014. In August 2014, a request for sales tax exemption was made to the State Of Mississippi.

The Tea Rose Foundation Board agreed to hold regular meetings during the fiscal year and its annual meeting in January immediately before the chapter meeting.
